It’s not uncommon to be curious about others' careers; after all, they tell you a lot about who they are. Telling people, "I'm a mascot maker," often invokes a curious pause, as it's not the corporate answer they usually anticipate.

Mascots are the ultimate brand ambassadors, driving personality and sparking joy. Crafting these complex, larger-than-life characters requires a unique blend of artistry and technical design, a challenge that never gets old.

Three Decades of Dedication

Spearheading our team is Joyce Banda, CEO and Creative Lead of Concept Factory Mascots. Joyce perfectly bridges the gap between strategic business management and hands-on artistry, actively running the company while remaining deeply involved in the creative process.

With over three decades of experience in the mascot manufacturing industry, she has witnessed the evolution of design and materials firsthand. This extensive industry knowledge allows her to seamlessly blend traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation.

From Theatre to Mascot Artistry

Joyce’s foundation in design is rooted in her education in

Fashion Design at Seneca College. This background gives her an edge in understanding textiles, structure, and aesthetics, which she applies to the structural design required for mascot construction.

While her journey began in theatre, a transition into making mascot components sparked a lifelong calling. She instantly connected with the level of creativity required for these unique projects. Years later, those creative challenges are exactly what keep her inspired and engaged.
